Meningitis Concerns
Recently there have been reports of serious illnesses and deaths following steroid injections of the spine; these have been linked to the use of a particular drug, methylprednisolone, which was compounded at a specialty pharmacy in Framingham, Mass. It appears the medication was contaminated and this has caused patients to contract fungal meningitis.
We have never used this drug or any products from this pharmacy, therefore our patients are not at an elevated risk of contracting meningitis from this drug.
